Powers, 77, of North Olmsted, Ohio, died Monday, May 29, 2017, in St. John Hospital, Westlake, Ohio.He was born Aug. 21, 1939, in Monclova, Ohio, to John P. and Floy (Double) Powers. He married Betty Jean Barnes on June 30, 1962. James was a graduate of Anthony Wayne High and was a quality control manager employed by Glidden Paints, Huron, before he retired. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Huron.Survivors include son, John F. (Kathleen) Powers of North Olmsted, Ohio; daughter, Sherry Moser of Huron; grandchildren, Kaley, Kimberly, Dena, Lauren, Amanda; great-grandson, Aiden Frost; brother, Rex Powers of Toledo; numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; his parents; sisters, Frances, Ruth, Fay, Pat, Janice; and brothers, Earl, Richard and Robert.A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 3, in Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, 219 S. Fulton St., Wauseon, Ohio. Fellowship luncheon will follow the memorial service.In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110; or Concord Lutheran Home, 2116 Dover Center Road, Westlake, OH 44145.Interment will be at a later date in Wauseon Union Cemetery.Condolences may be made to the family at grisierfh.com.Arrangements have been entrusted to Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon, Ohio.
